What is the difference between private lessons & guiding?

A private lesson will focus on making you better at skiing / snowboarding. This will normally involve assessing your current level, making a plan of what you’d like to change and then learning / practicing skills to help you develop. This could, in theory happen while just looping round the same lift all day.

A full day guiding will involve checking the levels of skiers / snowboarders and then showing you the resort and the runs most suited to you and what you want to do. We’ll make sure you stop somewhere nice for lunch and make sure you get home safe at the end of the day. We normally allocate guiding to one of our most experienced instructors who knows the mountains like the back of their hand.

Of course, time with an instructor can be a mixture of both of these. We’re all very adaptable and can make sure you get exactly what you want from your time with a Summit instructor.
